Company History
On February 10, 1961, the Chagnon company was founded by Mr. Camille Chagnon. During its first decade in business, the Chagnon company provided specialized services in mechanical and welding technology for products intended for the mining and industrial sectors.
In the 1970s, Mr. Chagnon began expanding his range of services with environmental products, anticipating the advent of this new sector, which is now booming.
Already well established in North America, Mr. Chagnon began in 1990 to develop his market share in Latin America and Africa. Despite this expansion into international markets and with a view to preserving jobs and the quality of its products, all production was carried out directly at the factory in Varennes, Quebec.
As it continued to evolve, the Chagnon company became GCI Environnement in 2004.
In February 2008, Mr. Roger Savard took over the company and became its new owner. Heading up a team of 65 very proud and dedicated employees, Mr. Savard is committed to taking the business higher and farther than ever before.
